Michigan Republicans have ILLEGALLY passed over 96% (546) of their bills using an emergency loophole
It’s much, much worse in Michigan than we even realized
Last night, Rachel Maddow broke a huge story that has been happening since Republicans took over in Michigan in 2011 and has gone completely under the radar. Since January 2011, 566 bills have been signed into law. Of those, 546 of them, 96.5% were passed under “immediate effect”. Click through for the video from last night’s show. Pay particular attention to around 12:30 where they show it in action. It’s astonishing.

I think for this fact alone, Michigan is getting +5. Sort of a “the whole damn system is wrong” criteria I’ve decided to add.
I was absolutely flabbergasted last night when Rachel Maddow was reporting on this. Fucking ridiculous! So much for the small, limited government they preach.
Those fuckers in Michigan have become a fascist regime. All they’re missing is their very own Benito Mussolini (Ohh, wait! They have Snyder!).
And we’re not even talking about their “Emergency Manager” law.
The Michigan Republican primary today is an open primary which means that ALL registered voters can vote regardless of party affiliation. With this, I call on all you progressive Michiganders to get out there and vote ‘Santorum’ just for shits and giggles. Wouldn’t it be hilarious if Romney (the frontrunner) lost his home state to Frothy Santorum? I think so. Not only that but it would extend the Republican primary and make Mittens look like the tool he is and give Frothy false hope.
So, with this, if you’re a Liberal/Progressive/Dem Michigander who was thinking of sitting this one out, DONT. Go out there and fuck with the Republicans. Vote Frothy.

True Story
How Republicans seem to think business works:
- Employee: Boss, thanks to deregulation and tax cuts, we've made our highest profits in years! What should we do now?
- Boss: Clearly, we need to hire more people.
- Employee: Huh? Why? Our increase in profit was completely due to tax cuts and deregulation. Our demand hasn't increased whatsoever, so why would we increase our workforce?
- Boss: To thank America, obviously. The only reason I wasn't hiring before was that I was afraid of the instability in this country.
- Employee: I thought you weren't hiring because our current workforce was meeting the demands of our product. It would only make sense for you to hire more people if demand increased somehow, like if Americans had more money to spend. Now that I think about it, wouldn't you be more likely to create jobs if average Americans had their taxes cut instead of your business? Surely, the increase in their spending capability would have positive effects on the commerce district for this entire community, at which point, we'd have to hire a new employee or two to keep up with the increase in business.
- Employee: Sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of myself putting America back to work.
- How business ACTUALLY works:
- Employee: Boss, thanks to deregulation and tax cuts, we've made our highest profits in years! What should we do now?
- Boss: Let's use the extra money and lack of regulation to buy up other small companies and consolidate them with ours, shutting down the competition and putting hundreds of people out of work in the process. Then, in order to deal with the new size of our business, we'll have to consolidate, eliminating a few hundred additional jobs. After that, let's outsource as many jobs as possible so we can maximize profits.
- Employee: But shouldn't we try and repay America somehow?
- Boss: We're already funding their entire election. What more do they want?

NEWSFLASH! The Republicans D O N T L I K E Y O U! They don’t and they never will. When will you get this through your head? Is it really that difficult to understand? They want to make your political life a living hell! Stop this whole ‘bipartisan’ bullshit! You tried that for the past two years, how did that work out for you?
